The Audit Fair-2018 was held in the capital city from November 3 to November 5 in the conference room of the Post and Telecommunications Division in capital city.
The Post and Telecommunications Division organized the fair in a bid for disposal of audit objections.
Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury, Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh, was present at the inaugural session of the audit fair as the chief guest with Shyam Sunder Sikder, Secretary of Post and Telecommunications Division, in the chair.
Chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), managing director of BTCL, Director General of the Postal Department, Director General of the Audit Department, officers, executives and employees of organisations under these departments were also present at the event.
In the past, disposal of audit objections completed in the traditional manner was a time consuming process.
The participating offices and organisations presented more updated worksheets, audit objection broadsheets and proofs at the fair.
A committee was formed for the project combining representatives of the Post and Telecommunications Division, Director General of Department of Postal, Telecommunication, Science and Technology and others. Disposal of audit objections were completed during the fair via presentation of the worksheets of the objections to the Audit Objections committee.
During the three-day fair, 113 audit objections of the Postal Department, 130 of BTCL (126 full and 4 partial) and 2 of Teletalk were disposed with immediate effect. Mr. Shyam Sunder Sikder, Secretary, Post and Telecommunications Division awarded the Heads of the participating departments and agencies at the closing ceremony.
Officials of the Post and Telecommunications Division said that the fair has been effective for disposal of audit objections.
