Two drug dealers were killed in a gunfight with RAB at Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar on November 20. 1 lakh pieces of Yaba, 2 arms and 8 rounds of bullets were recovered from the spot. A truck used to transport drugs has also been seized.
The deceased were identified as Ashik Jahangir, 32, son of Md Abdul Hakim of Kotwali area of Mymensingh district and Md. Arif Hossain, 30, son of Abdul Barek of Talla Bara Mosque area of Narayanganj district.
RAB-7 Teknaf Company Commander of CPC-2 Mirza Shahed said that on the basis of confidential information, RAB knew that a truck left from Teknaf with a large amount of Yaba.
Based on the information, a group of RAB-7 made barracks at Keruntali in the area.
When the truck arrived at the scene, RAB members fired warning shots as the truck tried to flee.
The truck stopped at one point and the two dealers were taken to Teknaf Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared them dead.
