A two-day “Rabindra Utshab” (Rabindra Festival) will begin at the National Museum in the capital city on tomorrow (Tuesday). Rabindra Academy is organising the festival.
Prime Minister’s International Affairs Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi is expected to attend the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest, while National Professor Anisuzzaman will inaugurate the festival.
President of Rabindra Academy Azizur Rahaman Aziz will chair the opening ceremony, while Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dhaka University Prof Dr Muhammad Samad will spoke at the event as the special guest. Rabindra Sangeet Singer Fahmida Khatun will get honorary award at a ceremony.
On the second day of the festival, DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman is expected to attend as the chief guest.
The festival features several Rabindranath-related seminars, discussions, Rabindra songs, dance and cultural shows. Rabindra experts from Bangladesh and India will take part in all the seminars and discussions to be held during
the festival.
