Two alleged cattle thieves were beaten to death by people of Borabo village under Kaliakoir upazila in Gazipur on Saturday morning.
People of Borabo village said that a gang of cattle thieves went to the house of one Shajahan Mia to steal cattle. Sensing the presence of thieves, a group of locals surrounded and caught them. They beat the thieves mercilessly, leaving two dead on spot.
Officer in charge (OC) of Kaliakoir Police Station Alamgir Husain said on information, a team of police reached the spot and recovered the bodies of two persons.
The bodies have been sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tazuddin Ahmed Memorial Hospital for autopsy.
