Chandpur Public Works Department is implementing 14 projects in the current fiscal year at the cost of at least Tk 70.94 crore.
According to district PWD sources, the projects will be completed within 2018-2019 fiscal.
Providing details about the projects, PWD sources said Chandpur Police Line will get a two-storied barracks costing Tk 3.65 crore. A Freedom Fighters Complex is being constructed like in other districts at a cost of Tk 2.53 crore while expenditure on construction of a NSI office has been fixed at Tk 3, 36, 25,000.
A technical training center is being constructed spending Tk 35,12,60,000.
A first-class weather observation centre is being built at Chandpur river port at a cost of Tk 2,58,80,000; and a public library is being constructed at the cost of Tk 5,54,52,000.
Two naval police outpost and barracks, one at Sadar Alur market and the other at Matlab Mahanpur will be constructed costing Tk 3,40,75,000 each.
Executive engineer of district PWD Abdul Ali told Bangladesh Post, “These projects have already been officially approved.”
