On the occasion of Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bengali New Year 1431, celebrated across the country on Sunday, all, irrespective of religion and caste woke up with new joy forgetting the sorrows and failures of the past year and pledged to fight against militancy, fundamentalism, extremism and anti-liberation forces and to build a society free from hunger and poverty and a golden Bangladesh cum Smart Bangladesh as dreamt by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

This year’s Baishakh is a great inspiration for the nation as the Bengali New Year began with colorful dreams of new possibilities and hope. The new future should be accepted anew and past mistakes should be left behind and move towards a better future.

Greeting the rising sun of the bold New Year, country’s people also want a fresh start. With the ray of new sunshine, the country will again get back its fresh shape that will touch and encourage people to go ahead.

Country’s people especially living in rural area on Saturday celebrated traditional Chaitra Sankranti festival marking the last day of the outgoing Bangla year. We all bade farewell to the outgoing year 1430 with a fresh hope that a new sun rises that will take away all sorrows, pains, and fears from the country.

The Pahela Baishakh

 is an

integral part of Bangali

culture

The Pahela Baishakh is an integral part of Bangali culture. The Bangalis have been celebrating the Pahela Baishakh as a universal and non-communal festival for a long period of time.

Shedding the preceding year’s glooms to oblivion, we believe this New Year will bring the strength to the national life to uphold the rich cultural values and rituals of the Bangalis. We wish this fresh year will be blissful one that will be bringing new hopes, opportunities

and joy.

After all odds, diseases, frustration and darkness, we the country’s people are confident that fresh lives will start to come out again. Let the dead past bury its dead and start the day in fresh spirits,  people touched by new sunshine also expressed their firm  determination to turn around and overcome all odds or hurdles in the days to come.

Bangladesh has lost its eminent personalities including educationists, journalists, renowned lawyers, veteran freedom fighters, politicians, noted actors and singers and leading business stalwarts last year. Amid odds almost throughout the year of 1430, new life starts to come out again and the country looks forward with fresh hope and aspirations. Everything in nature will give an impression of freshness as if the nature takes a new birth.
