He landed at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Malaysia on Tuesday night.

So far, seven people have been arrested in connection with the deadly fire. CID Sub-Inspector (SI) Nizamuddin Fakir said Sohail Siraj was arrested in the Bailey Road fire case.  On Wednesday, the CID sent Sohail Siraj to the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court with a five-day remand prayer. After the hearing, the court granted a two-day remand.

On February 29, a terrible fire broke out in Green Cozy Cottage at Bailey Road. Food shops were on different floors of the building, and the Kacchi Bhai restaurant was on the second floor. Many people had come to eat at different restaurants when the fire broke out.  Later, a total of 46 people, including 18 women and 8 children, lost their lives in the terrible fire. Besides, many were injured. In this incident, police filed a case alleging death due to negligence. CID is investigating the case.

Meanwhile, June 4 is scheduled for submission of the report in the case regarding the loss of life of 46 people in that terrible fire.

Last April 24 was the date for submitting the investigation report in this case. However, since the report was not submitted on that day, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sultan Sohag Uddin fixed a new day.
