Dhaka University is going to arrange inter University Code Samurai Hackathon for the 3rd time. On May 10, and this competition will be inaugurated in Computer Science and Engineering department of University of Dhaka. Prize giving ceremony will be held on May 11 in Dhaka University Senate Building.
Dr upoma kabir, Professor, Computer Science and Engineering department and convener of the programme talked about the event at a press briefing held in Dhaka University Sangbadik Samiti.
She said, " Dhaka University, Bangladesh Japan Information technology (BJIT) and Globalgecks are going to arrange this program jointly and 23 Universities will attend this competition with 46 teams.
“Hackathon is a kind of practical problem-solving programming competition. Contestants participating in hackathons get the opportunity to come up with software-based solutions to various global or local problems.
Hackathon plays a great role in the development of modern technology industry and improvement of people's lifestyle”, She added.
The winner will be awarded Tk.10 lakhs as prize money for securing first place. Salman F Rahman, Chowdhury, Non govt industries and Investment based adviser of Prime minister, will present as chief guest and A S M Maksud Kamal, Vice Chancellor of the University of Dhaka will preside the programme.
