Bhutan King impressed by Padma Bridge

A visit to the Padma Bridge left an impression on King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan. On Wednesday, at around 9a.m., he ascended the Padma Bridge from Mawa End and was astounded by its magnificence.

In the international arena, this bridge is also the subject of discussion and interest. Thus, the Bhutanese king came to see this bridge.

The Bhutanese king pulled over next to pier number eighteen in the middle of the bridge and got out of the vehicle. He spent ten minutes on the bridge. At this point, the Bhutanese King was also taking photos on the bridge.

The arrival of a foreign King at Padma Bridge has pleased the 

people living along the Padma River. The Local Government and Bridges authorities welcomed Jigme Khesar when he arrived at service area 2 of the bridge. The project manager gave them a briefing about the bridge there. Bhutan's ambassador, Rinchen Kuentsyl, was present at the time, along with other high-ranking officials.

Security was stepped up along the whole road upon the arrival of the King.

The King of Bhutan crossed Jazira End to descend from the bridge. He crossed the Padma Bridge in 5 minutes at 10:38 on the way back.
