Bangladesh's cricket scene just witnessed a significant breakthrough for women in officiating. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has added several Bangladeshi females to its prestigious officiating panels amid chaos regrading umpires.

Supriya Rani Das will be joining the elite ICC International Panel of Match Referees, a significant accomplishment for Bangladeshi cricket administration and female representation in the sport.

Four Bangladeshi women, Shathira Jakir Jessy, Mst Rokeya Sultana, Dolly Rani Sarkar, and Champa Chakma, have been selected for the ICC Development Panel of Umpires. This demonstrates a commitment to fostering future female umpiring talent in Bangladesh.

The news was well-received by Iftekhar Ahmed Mithu, chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) umpires' committee. He emphasized the importance of this achievement, stating it's a major win not just for cricket in Bangladesh but particularly for the growth of women's cricket in the country. He acknowledged the hard work and dedication of these women over the past two years, which undoubtedly garnered the ICC's attention and this well-deserved opportunity.
